From Here to There Starts Today

This week, our last in this series, ends with our old friend Peter. A few weeks ago, we learned that after bragging about being willing to die, he would not even stay awake for an hour. Now, after Jesus is arrested, he denies even knowing Him. Peter decides to go back to the fishing life, and he takes 6 other disciples with him. IN a surprising move, while fishing, who appears on the shore having a cookout, but Jesus. Yes, Jesus invites Peter to a cookout and he ends up being the one to get cooked. Peter has failed in a major way. He has bragged about being the “most” faithful even to the point of death, and he probably meant what he said, but his faith was not where he thought it was. Jesus essentially cooks Peter, not to humiliate him, but to humble him for the work that He had for him.
